Say Yes

Game Update

Things are starting to pick up some real momentum as I am consistently building more random events during my game development time. I feel like buying this new computer was one of the best decisions I could have made this year. I feel so blessed to be able to make a large investment like this so easily. I imagine even if all I do is keep on schedule as is that I will have the random events finished soon and will be moving on to the beta stage for the game.

I really want to get the next update out by Christmas, but it’s possible we might also be ready by Thanksgiving which would be quite a blessing. It will really depend on me. I should probably shift some more of my own weekly time away from other pursuits and to finishing the game. I tend to be the kind of person that has a lot of different things going on from week to week.

Personal Update

Last weekend I kind of felt a little depressed and so running 10 miles on Sunday before church really helped to raise my spirits a lot. Often I find that when I get into the runners high zone I start laughing for no apparent reason. It probably seems a little crazy to people around me. Monday rolled around and I made a lot of new connections which developed as the week progressed. I learned that no matter what I will always have problems, but it’s important to set myself up for “high quality” problems. Coming out of the weekend I had more of a low quality problem in that it was quiet and I wanted more social interaction. On Monday things reversed quickly and I had more social interaction than I could handle.

The week progressed and when the weekend arrived I had thought I knew how it was going to go. Yes I had a plan for each day of the weekend, and so I had created expectations around that. However, I was in for many pleasant surprises.

Friday was a pretty nice low key social day. A lunch and a movie night, nothing to crazy.

The main event was really Saturday. Originally, I had plans with my family that morning, but things fell apart that morning and so I adjusted my expectations and found something else to do. I did get my 10 miles in again on Saturday morning which was already a great start to the day. My friend told me that I had to run a practice half marathon on the following Saturday and then some! Wow I hope I’m up to that. I have never run more than 13.1 miles in one session. I suppose it’s to build up my mind to tell my body that I can do it. So the day was already headed in the right direction.

I adjusted plans for my morning and found something to do which was a nice time out of the house. I was planning on trying out an all white clothes event at Senior Frogs on Pensacola Beach. So I made it out there as well. Then I had a dinner at Red Fish Blue Fish that I was hosting for the local singles group. I’m so happy for the turnout! It was all thanks to some good friends that it was successful.

My friend really wanted to go out dancing that night. At this point I was pretty tired from the days events. I think I had something like 25k steps recorded. They persisted so I relented and we went dancing. Wow I’m so glad I went out that night. I couldn’t imagine what kind of events were lined up while I was out there. I can’t go to far into the details, but I left there very happy and energized. It was like some sort of second wind.

Sunday went about as expected as I relaxed into my groups Middara game after church. Pretty low key for the end of the day. Tomorrow I have another social event which will kind of complete things for what started way back on Monday. I feel as though I might be moving into the next phase soon but we will see. I never know what might just be around the corner. It’s important to say “yes” when life comes calling, even when I am tired. I suppose sometimes it gets me in trouble, but I would prefer to have the adventure and lose some sleep instead of wondering later.
